Munich - 2014
Chris and I got to spend two weeks in Munich, Bavaria, and in Salzburg, Austria. We did all the "must see" things: Marienplatz and the 100 year old glockenspiel, the incredible cathedrals, the Hofbrauhaus and English Gardens, and Mad Kink Ludwig's Neuschwanstien and Linderhof Castles. We took a day trip to Dachau, the first concentration camp built by the Nazis, and only a few miles out of Munich. It was a memorable experience, and all German school children are required to visit a concentration camp. Chris also got a personal guided trip to the house, studio and final resting place of Carl Orff, her teaching inspiration. She got to sit at his piano and see his studio, which is unchanged since his death in 1982. The trip to Europe was fabulous.
